Gravitate World Heritage

„Gravitate World Heritage“ is an art project in the form of a virtual campaign to bring awareness to our cultural and natural heritage in connection with the digital carbon footprint. By using screenshots of information about these topics, I create a paradox connection through the investment in the preservation of culture - like a marketing campaign in reverse.

At the beginning of this project I envisioned: What if, we place a screenshot, in form of a monumental hologram, in the middle of Dolomite’s Rosengarten? Quite utopic, but thinking about it from the point of view of conceptual art, I wanted to address the economic and political aspects that this work brings to the front. My imagination about the impact of this project was quite monumental, because it requires an audience to make this project become alive. So, I decided to showcase the exhibition in the digital space, to create a community that is engaging, listening, showing and responding to thoughts, ideas and issues about this topic. Social media has the potential to create engagement and make viewers and virtual visitors feel like they are part of something larger than themselves - a community with a conscious purpose to cultural sustainability.
